What to Wear on a Date, The Formula Guaranteed to Attract a Man
When we read that there was new research that came up with a formula for the perfect outfit for a date, we knew you would want to know. The look guaranteed “…to make any man swoon,” seriously? Seriously. But don’t blame the guys, this advice is based on researching what they respond to subconsciously, stuff they may not even realize themselves.
Start with Nude Colored Makeup and Red Lips. Most men think women wear too much makeup. Foundation and blush are what make you look caked and are the biggest turn offs. Go light with these and keep eyeshadow in nude tones. Don’t layer it on. If you want a pop of color, make it red lips. They’re not loved by 100% of men, but most like them. A man will spend half of the first 10 seconds when he meets you looking at your lips. Pink lipstick will hold his attention for 6.7 seconds and red for 7.3 seconds.
Then Add More Red
This was no surprise, we already knew most Men are attracted to a woman wearing red. But why? Researchers at New York’s University of Rochester unconsciously feel that a woman dressed in red will be more likely to respond to their advances — she is literally in heat! Biologically female primates (which humans are primates) such as baboons go red in the face or on other parts of their bodies when they are fertile. Therefore, red in an inherently sexual color, even if a man doesn’t realize why he finds it attractive, his subconscious, or his biology does. If you are wearing red, you will be seen as more sexual than the other women in the room.
Stir in Long Hair with Soft Waves
Yes, over 80% of men find hair a “key part” of a woman’s sexuality and attractiveness. Ever notice how some cultures feel women need to cover their hair to appear modest in public. Some psychologists say the hair on a woman’s head is a subconscious reminder of hair on other parts of her body, and of her animal nature. A woman with a tight, neat bun is more bottled up than a woman with wild long free-flowing waves. A loose wave makes you appear relaxed and easy going and is the look men respond to most. Stick-straight hair makes you look demanding and uptight in mens minds, and bangs, apparently are also no-no. Men find them too severe and a turn off. Most importantly, hair should look glossy and healthy since its subconsciously a key indicator of fertility.
Shake with Brown Hair Color
This one is up to you depending on why you want to attract a man. If you are — or choose to be — a blonde, you will be perceived as sexy and fun but it’s brunettes that men really see as long-term partner material. Most men, as high as 60%, consider women with brown more trustworthy and loyal, and as potential wives.
Heat with a 42% Showing of Skin
Yes, it’s very specific, but give it a try. Based on a University study, the optimum amount of skin to show is 42%, if you’re looking for a lasting relationship. Of course, show more, as much as possible in fact, if you want a one night hookup. So the key here is the balance. If you show lots of leg, cover more of your arms. If your a dress is strapless, keep it below the knee. Since most likely you’ll be at dinner sitting across from him, the ideal look could be a low neck dress with a lovely necklace and three-quarter sleeves.
Mix in Skirts and Dresses Only
Men wear pants, so seeing a woman in a dress accentuates your differences. Pants are subconsciously seen as mannish. Researchers at a British University asked 300 people to judge a women wearing skirts or pants of the same fabric. They knew nothing else about her, but judged the women in skirts as more successful and confident. Absolute date killers that men hate: jumpsuits, leggings, harem pants, tuxedo jackets, gladiator-type sandals and Ugg boots.
Add in Neck and Wrists
On a subconscious level men look for women they can physically over-power. We know, this sounds weird, but it’s what they find attractive, even if they don’t know it. Showing your wrists and neck brings out this animal attraction. The neck is also an erogenous zone, so draw his attention with a fine necklace. But again, remember the 42% rule, too much skin will make them feel you are best for a brief hookup. A long-term mate will look appealing, not too “easily accessible” because they can’t trust her. Softly touching your neck during the date and exposing your wrists to your date will send him subconscious signals.
Then Walk Slowly and Purposefully
Scientists found that when women are at the peak of their fertility cycle they walk more slowly. They take on average 3 seconds longer to walk the same distance. And the men noticed! Men judged their walk to be sexier than the normal quicker pace of women who were not as fertile at the time. This is the reason we wear heels. It mimics this slower, more studied gait. But don’t go too far, 3 inches is optimal.
and Finally Love Your Curves
Men are subconsciously looking for signs of fertility when they are seeking a long-term mate. You’ve probably heard of the hip-to-waist ratio, well it’s true. Regardless of whether you weigh 100 or 200 pounds, your waist should be from 0.6 to 0.8 of the size of your hips. Take your waist measurement and divide by your hip measurement. For example, if your hips are 38 inches, your waist should be around 28in. Fake it by wearing a dress that draws you in, or a belt, or if you have to wear a waist cincher to get this result it may be worth the squeeze.
